BOKO HARAM TERRORISTS SURRENDER

About 18 members of the Boko Haram Islamist militant group and their families have surrendered to the Nigerian military after clashes in the northern state of Borno between factions loyal to the group’s founder, Abubakar Shekau, and the new head Abu Musab Albarnawi.

According to Ali Mohammed, a member of the Civillian JTF, the factional clash between the two groups may have allowed the repentant terrorists to sneak out of camp and surrender.

The estranged leader of the sect, Abubakar Shekau may have died as a result of wounds sustained during an air strike by the Nigerian Airforce, on the Sambisa forest on August 19.
