The
Islamic State's West African Province otherwise known as Boko Haram has continued
to suffer catastrophic defeats at the hands of the Nigerian Army and its allies
in the ongoing campaign to end an over 5-year terror reign in West Africa.
In another round of defeat for the terrorists, many of them were sent to hell when they confronted gallant troops of the Nigerian Army on the Damaturu-Biu road recently.

As
far as armed combat goes, the terrorists have suffered heavy damage to both
human and material resources and it is for this reason that they have resorted
to hit-and-run tactics, attacking villages, markets, religious enclosures and
the likes with suicide bomb after suicide bomb. The deductions are however very
clear-the terrorists still want to be relevant in a war they are quickly losing.
As such, they have upped the frequency of their suicidal campaign.
Sometime
in mid July, ISWAP released a propaganda video where they showed the dead
bodies of supposed Nigerian soldiers who they had killed in combat, as well as
the capture of a particular Nigerian town, amongst others. For the terrorists,
this was a clear statement of intent, just as their previous Youtube and
twitter videos, that they could overrun Nigerian territory at will, as well as
confidently engage the nation's armed forces!
Unfortunately
however, they seem to have forgotten so soon that the "six-week" campaign
executed seamlessly by the Nigerian military in February, effectively exposed
and categorically ended their chances of ever again capturing any Nigerian
territory. They seem to have forgotten that Nigerians are now more aware about
the activities of their nation's forces thanks in no small measure to the
collective efforts of the military and media who have continued to update us
with visuals of the battle against the dastardly elements in multiple
encounters.
We
have seen Boko Haram fleeing military engagement in droves, we have seen Boko
Haram's weapons, vehicles and ammunition captured or destroyed in great
number, in their fight to establish their Islamic caliphate on sovereign
Nigerian territory.
While
we do not deny that the threat of this group remains evident, we have however
seen Boko Haram gradually reduced from a combat-capable behemoth, to a merry
band of mind-warped bandits who, for some twisted reason, still have some sort
of mindless religious agenda to pursue. As such, they have executed a series of
multiple suicide blasts in Gombe, Kaduna, Jos, Adamawa and so on to create the
illusion that they are still in control and Nigeria cannot be safe. They have
even gone a step further to attack the hometown of the new Chief Of Army Staff,
Major-General Tukur Buratai, indicating that they also are following events
very closely.
They
should however realise that they cannot win or hope to win this war. As
Nigerians we will not allow any sort of group to encroach on any part of
sovereign Nigerian territory. As Nigerians, we want them to know that with our
collective will, we will defeat them and visit the most horrific fate
imaginable on those to wish to terrorise our nation.
Citizens
rest assured! For no matter how long it takes, we SHALL rid the land of all
vermin and filth...#NeverAgain will we concede any inch of our cherished
territory to those who seek to abuse our sovereignty..Watch out Boko
Haram...hiding in the caves and moving under the cover of darkness to harm
innocent civilians will not change our resolve. Using six-year-old girls to
bomb public places will not gain you fame or glory! Rather it shows you for
what you are: a bunch of cowardly terrorists who have no regard for human life.
Watch out, for something wicked your way comes...
